I don’t get why it’s so special the artist is a girl? Lots of girls like creepy stuff…Used to love the website Ogrish before they got sucked up by liveleak. Ogrish was a lot more disgusting than this…

re: @Jenn and @UGH
How often do you find a girl who likes dead animals and steampunk? Being it is a statically impressive number in it’s lowness, I did feel it was worth mentioning. Of course if you know of a region, any place on the planet, this is normal to the average women… please by all things we geekly men hold sacred, tell us where to move

I’m trying to get commitment from our selected artists to exhibit in either of the Steampunk Art Gallery venues coming up this Summer/Fall:
1) Steampunk Form & Function Design Competition at The Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham MA
Submit Entry by Sept 5, 2010. Artwork needed by Oct 1, 2010
2) Nemo’s Steampunk Art Gallery at Patriot Place’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Entertainment Exhibit in Foxboro MA
Artwork needed by August 15, 2010
I would need:
1) Venue participating
2) Title/description of the artwork
3) Dimensions/size
4) Cost (consignment will be 60% to the artist, 30% to Steampuffin and 10% donated to The Charles River Museum)
As an added bonus for the artists – I’ve been recently approached by a book publisher for Melanie and I to author an ‘inspirational’ book on Steampunk Design and Innovations. All the artwork in our venues will be photographed and will appear in the book to be published the Summer of 2011.
Please respond within the next 2 weeks if possible so I can plan the space and approve your artwork for exhibiting within the venues.
Below is some additional info about the venues:
ModVic is Opening 2 Steampunk Art Gallery Venues Coming this Fall!
1) WALTHAM MA > Steampuffin’s 1st Annual Steampunk Form & Function Design Competition (www.steampuffin.com) brings together outstanding Steampunk design innovations, details the design process and promotes the role of the Steampunk designer/craftsman. Along with recycled items, all Steampunk design solutions are primarily built using authentic Victorian (1850s to early 1900s) objects, salvage items, clothing and antiques that incorporate modern technology and have specific functions for modern day, practical uses.
Sponsored by, Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation (www.crmi.org), ModVic LLC (www.modvic.com) and Brute Force Studios (www.bruteforcestudios.com), the selections in Steampuffin’s Annual Competition represents the best work across the world in creative Steampunk design for housing modern day technology and conveniences, as chosen by a distinguished jury of design peers. All Steampunk design projects will be exhibited at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation in Waltham MA from October 22, 2010 to May 10, 2011. In addition, all chosen design solutions will be available for online viewing and sale on http://www.steampuffin.com
A film documentary is also planned —
SteamFusion: How Steampunk Artists Infuse Modern Technology into Victorian Homes and Objects. This film will help promote the event and create more awareness of this type of Steampunk Form & Function artwork. The documentary will profile four selected Steampunk artists in the planning, designing, acquiring objects and building their inventions through to the end of the competition.
2) FOXBORO MA > Steampuffin partners with 5 Wits to open Nemo’s Steampunk Art Gallery at the brand new 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Interactive Exhibit at Patriot Place — opening September 2010!
Patriot Place and 5 Wits, the company behind the wildly successful TOMB in Boston, is opening the fully-immersive interactive adventure experience, 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, at the 1.3-million-square foot shopping, dining and entertainment destination in Foxboro, Massachusetts this Summer/Fall. 5 Wits is estimating 75,000+ people will be visiting the exhibit in the first year.
The hour-long, interactive walk-through adventure will transport guests into fantastic worlds using Disney-caliber set design and special effects. Guests must work in groups to complete a series of puzzles, riddles and tasks. Each decision made by the group affects the storyline and outcome, making the experience different with each visit.
20,000 LEAGUES will reveal that Captain Nemo and his incredible Nautilus may be more than science fiction. Guests will explore the depths of the sea, solving deadly puzzles and defeating both man and beast to uncover the truth.

I look forward to hearing back.
We’ll talk soon.
Steamcerely,

I’m a girl I like taxidermy and most of my friends do both male and female. So, get your head out from under a rock. The comment was offensive live and learn.
